About Registration

Why Register?

Registered users have access to more functionality. Registration provides access to additional applications and resources and allows you to maintain a personal user profile, including customised filters that will speed up the retrieval of your favourite information. Registration also enables the IDP Nerve Centre Support Staff to better respond to your needs and to keep you informed of important developments.

Who can register?

Anyone can apply for registration, however the IDP Nerve Centre System was primarily developed for South African Government employees involved in the IDP process, and as such, non government users (e.g. business, academia and research institutions) will not always have access to all system applications.

How to register as a funding organisation?

Funding organisations are currently regarded as a special category of user, with permissions to add, edit and delete their own records within e-Funding. Due to the sensitive nature of the funding database the IDPNC usually contacts funding organisations directly, however if you belong to a funding organisation and would like to add fund details to the database please contact the IDPNC Call Centre and we will facilitate access to the database.

How does validation work?

Municipalities and government departments designate their own IDPNC System Administrator who will be responsible to validate users and assign permissions depending on the role of the user in their organisation. Non-government users are all validated by the National IDP Nerve Centre System Administrator and will belong to the non-government user group with restricted permissions.

What steps must I take to register?

Click on "Register as a new user" on the Home page or alternatively click on "Login" on the top menu bar which also contains a link to registration. A registration screen will appear, requesting the following information:
  1. Your email address (e.g. user@company.co.za) will serve as your User Name;
  2. Provide a password of your choice;
  3. Please note that both the User Name and Password is  “CaSE SENsitive”;
  4. Both your e-Mail and Password must be entered twice for validation purposes. You will be able to change your Password as often as you like by accessing the “Maintaining My Profile” facility of the IDP Nerve Centre;
  5. Fields marked with a (*) are compulsory;
  6. After you have entered your personal information and clicked the “Submit” button, the system will confirm that your information has been captured successfully. You will also receive an e-mail to enable the IDP Nerve Centre to validate your e-mail address;
  7. The IDPNC System will then route your information to the designated IDP Nerve Centre System Administrator to register you as a specific type of user with associated permissions. Note that registration is intentionally not an automatic process and that you will only be able to log in after receiving a second e-mail stating that you are a registered user of the IDP Nerve Centre;
  8. Should you not receive such an e-mail within 24 hours, please contact the IDP Nerve Centre Call Centre for assistance
